The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council in Delta State, Mr Jite Brown has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on some areas in the council over the spate of cult related clashes.
Areas affected by the curfew are Ovwian town, Ekete Inland, Ekete Waterside, Owhase town, Orhuwhorun Junction, Express Junction and Mofor Junction.
The curfew which takes effect from Wednesday September 18, 2019, will begin in the hours of 9pm to 6am daily.

A statement signed by the council secretary, Elohor Awinoron, said the decision was taken at the end of peace and security meeting with Divisional Police Officers and other security chiefs in the council.
The affected areas had enmeshed cult clashes and other criminal activities which have resulted in the killings, raping and maiming of some residents in the Udu metropolise.
The council boss warned that henceforth, the security agents would come hard on suspected cultists in the council.
Brown said the curfew will affect all commercial vehicles including Keke NAPEP and motorbikes in the areas.

According to him, any commercial vehicle, tricycle (Keke) and Okada found operating after 9pm or before 6 am daily will be impounded and the operators made to face the full wrath of the law.
He warned that the security agencies have been put on red alert to enforce the curfew, and residents to comply with the directive.
