The Police in Delta State have refuted reports roping its men in the alleged killing of an Okada rider in Orhuwhorun in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Delta Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the killing of the commercial motorcyclist, said it was a vigilante personnel who committed the crime.
He disclosed that the vigilante operative had already been arrested by police operatives after mob had beaten the suspect to a pulp.
There was tension in Udu after commercial motorcyclists and residents took to the streets to protest the killing of the deceased.

The protesters had earlier claimed that the deceased was shot by a policeman but NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online can now authoritatively report that it was vigilante member who was in a joint patrol with some police officers that shot the victim.
Following the protest, mob subsequently set ablaze the operational vehicle of the Nigeria Police Force and thereafter burnt down the vigilante building in the council.
“It was not policemen that shot the victim. It was a vigilante member. I think they were on joint patrol when the unfortunate incident happened. Mob not knowing what happened set our operational vehicle ablaze. They also put fire on the vigilante office”, DSP Edafe said on phone.
The truth is that the ovwian police division always in join patrol with the police in udu. Their major aim was not to look for criminals but to always mounted road block harrassi motorist that applying the road. In the present of the police vigilante will check paper. The ovwian divisional police should be scrab I’mmediately as their only major assignment is the Money they always collect at udu orhuwhruwho road. The truth is that their is no different between udu vigilante and the Nigeria police.
There are some lady police in that station worst that criminals. I think the inspector general of police should take all this allegations seriously and act fast.
What is important, is that the vigilantes are attached to police which gave them the morales to behave like how some of the police officers are behaving.
