Barely two weeks after NIGER DELTA TODAY Online uncovered the humiliating learning condition at Ogbe-Udu Secondary in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, this medium has once again unearth another more humiliating learning condition at a government owned primary school in the heart of Agbarho Town in Ughelli North LGA.
At Ogbe-Udu Secondary School, one of the oil bearing communities in Udu LGA, which this medium reported extensively through pictorial story, students are met to sit on bare floors to learn during school hours. Many of the classes were devoid of benches except students whose parents could afford to buy them one.
In its determination to bring to the knowledge of the state government and the public the condition of public schools in the state, NIGER DELTA TODAY Online team on Friday visited Isherhe Primary School at Agbarho, one of the urban towns in Ughelli North Council Area of the state.
No one would believe the level of deplorable and humiliating state of the classrooms until one takes a walk into the school premises going by the beauty of the school fence which houses the Isherhe Primary School and the State Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), Agbarho Learning Centre.

Isherhe Primary School located at the Oviri-Agbarho area of Agbarho Town was founded in 1929. The buildings truly reflect the age of one of the oldest public schools in the Ughelli North council area of the State.
While the building housing the ICE Secondary School had just been renovated by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was in good shape, the buildings housing Isherhe Primary School pupils, which is the original owner of the school compound, is in tatter and completely dilapidated except one building.
A resident of the area, Efe Emokioniovo, told our correspondent that the school is the oldest and biggest primary school in the town but it has been abandoned by the state and local governments as well as the community leadership.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online team which disguised as officials of the community observed primary five pupils lying on the floor to learn. The classrooms were devoid of windows, ceilings and benches.
