The National Union of Urhobo Students (NUUS), Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG) branch, has commended Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi for his humanitarian assistance to Deltans during the lockdown over the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Ogwashi-Uku NUUS President, Comrade Omesiri Inari, who spoke on behalf of the body, said Gbagi’s palliative has helped cushion the effect of the hardship occasioned by the lockdown.
Comrade Inari gave the commendation in a chat with news men on Thursday while urging other influential Deltans to emulate the gesture of the 2023 governorship candidate hopeful.
He observed that Olorogun Gbagi was one of the few eminent Urhobos and Deltans who provided palliative measures during the COVID-19 lockdown in the state irrespective of tribe and senatorial district especially to vulnerable Deltans.
He added that Gbagi provided thousands bags of rice, bags of garri, bags of beans, cartons of noodles, among others as palliative measures to the people.
The Mass Communication Higher National Diploma final year student said that his communities in Ughelli North and South benefitted immensely from the relief materials provided by Olorogun Gbagi.
He said that apart from the palliative, Olorogun Gbagi has touched the lives of all youths, women and men in the state, hence everybody is rallying around him in his gubernatorial ambition in the state.
Comrade Inari said that all these attributes of Olorogun Gbagi make all and sundry to be rallying around him in his Gubernatorial ambition in the state.
He, however, promised to mobilize all Urhobo students and other tribes in DSPG including other higher institutions in Delta State for him in 2023.
According to him, ” I have to commend Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi for the palliative measures in this COVID-2019. Gbagi has provided thousands bags of garri, bags of rice, cartons of noodles among others to the people.
“Gbagi has equally given money to different people to buy something to cushion the effect of the lockdown. I grew up to know Olorogun Gbagi doing good in Urhobo and Delta.
“Gbagi’s shopping plazas have provided jobs for a lot of Deltans in Warri. Also, his 5 Stars hotels which are second to none in the state are sources of employment to Deltans and Nigerians.”
Inira appealed to the Urhobo-born industrialist and politician not to relent in his good work in urhobo and Delta as a whole.
He, however, enjoined well-meaning Deltans to emulate Gbagi by providing palliative measures to the Urhobos and Deltans as a whole to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.
