Immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, is among prominent Nigerians listed to be honoured at the 50th convocation ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.
Uduaghan, who served as Delta governor between 2007-2015, will be conferred with a Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) of the prestigious University.
The was contained in a letter signed by the Vice Chancellor of UN, Professor Charles Igwe, to the former governor.
Professor Igwe said Uduaghan and other prominent Nigerians who have done the country proud both in public and private lives will be awarded with their honorary doctorate degree at the convocation ceremony scheduled for next Saturday, March 25, 2023.
He stated that Uduaghan was being honoured in recognition of his contribution to public service and governance.
“I send you very warm greetings from the University of Nigeria.
“I am pleased to inform you you that the Management and the Senate Committee on the Award of Honorary Doctorate Degrees of the University of Nigeria have found you worthy to be awarded the Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) of the University.
“The degree will be awarded during the forthcoming 50 convocation ceremony of the University scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023. As you may know, the Honorary Doctorate degree of the University of Nigeria is reserved for men and women of uncommon achievements. Thus, your nomination has been done in recognition of your contribution to public service and governance.
“Do accept my congratulations, while look forward to receiving your confirmation of the acceptance of the award”, the letter partly read.
