Uche Okpuno, Contractor Who Built Asaba Airport, Is Dead

The Chairman of U.L.O Consultant Ltd, Ogbueshi Uche Okpuno, is dead.

Okpuno was the owner of the firm that built the popular Asaba International Airport in the Delta State capital during the administration of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He reportedly collapsed at his residence in Abuja on Wednesday morning, NIGER DELTA TODAY Online reliably learnt.


He was aged 65.

Sources closed to the family confirmed the development to NIGER DELTA TODAY Online.

He was seen playing golf and dancing with close friends on Tuesday evening without any sign of ill-health until the unfortunate incident on Wednesday.

Okpono, was also the contractor who constructed the Modern Government House, Asaba.

The deceased was also the contractor handling the Section C of the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway until it was terminated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Okowa also terminated his contract with State Government at the Asaba International Airport.

He has, however, been in court with the Delta State government following the cancelation of the two contracts.
