Two Chinese Nationals kidnapped in Ebonyi

Two Chinese expatriate, Shen Gusmen and Mao Xinmin, working with Green field mining company Ihatutu Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have been kidnapped.

They were kidnapped around 11;40 am on Sunday March 29 at the mining site by the suspected kidnappers.

Ivo is of the local government with highest mineral deposits in Ebonyi State with over ten mining companies in the area.

The kidnap of the two Chinese Nationals however have been generating mixed reactions in the State following the State Government total lockdown order as a result of Coronavirus pandemic.

Correspondent reports that all the exit roots in the State are now under the watch of taskforce team and security agencies.

Source from Ihetutu told correspondent that the Chinese Nationals were allegedly kidnapped by fulani herdsmen.

That three Chinese expatriates were initially whisked away but one of them was later released by their abductors remaining two.

Contacted the police public relations officer in Ebonyi State DSP Loveth Odah confirmed the report and said there is police manhunt to rescue the victims unhurt.

“Yes something like that happened the police is investigating it. And our team has been mobilized to the area with the view to hunt down the kidnappers and rescue the victims unhurt.

They were kidnapped at the company site Green filed Nigeria Limited , located at Ihetutu, Ishiagu in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi state.
The incident took place around 11:40am.” She said#
