Tension In Rivers Community As Lifeless Body Of Missing Woman Is Found Inside Well

There was tension at Rumuosi community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday following the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman said to have been missing since November 20, 2019 inside a well in the area.

It was learnt that the discovery of the woman’s corpse reportedly led to sporadic gun dwell in the area on Sunday night.

Sources said the corpse of the lady identified as Wada Oluchi, who hails from a community in Emohua LGA of the state was recovered by police operatives after residents discovered the corpse inside the well following offensive odour from the well.

The police have, however, arrested three suspects including a boy friend of the victim during the operation.

Meanwhile, there was heavy shooting on the area after the police had removed the corpse of the lady from the well.

It was alleged that the gunmen who invaded the area were from the hometown of the victim and had entered the area to revenge the death of their sister.

At press time, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command could not be reached.
