Tension As Tanker Bursts Into Flames In Onitsha

Shops and other properties are currently being razed down after a truck carrying petroleum product burst into flames around the Upper Iweka road in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Sources in the area told our correspondent that the incident has caused a state of pandemonium at that section of the popular Onitsha Market.

The tanker was said to have burst into flames after falling into a deep covert in the area.

Our source further added that traders in the area are currently scampering for safety as many shops had already been affected.

Men of the fire fighters and police operatives led by the Anambra State commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang, have already arrived the scene of the incident.
