Tension As Gunmen In Military Uniform Storm Delta School, Abduct Three Teachers

Armed men dressed in military uniform on Tuesday reportedly abducted three teachers from Ohorhe Secondary School in the Uvwie Local Government of Delta State. 

The bandits were said to have stormed the school premises in a Highlander Jeep and made way to the school staff room and forcefully whisked three teachers away. 

The incident led to a state of pandemonium in Ohorhe community. 

It was gathered that the gunmen parked in the school premises for over 15 minutes before carryong out their action. 

Sources in the school told our correspondent that the school management had though that the gunmen were real military personnel since they were dressed in their uniform. 

The kidnappers were identified numbering four but three of them stormed the staff room with sophisticated guns to abduct the three teachers. 

A community source who confirmed the incident, said the gunmen threatened to community youths who ran after them on getting wind of the development. 

“The gunmen were dressed in military uniform. They were four in the Jeep including the driver. They were three for about 15 minutes before storming our staff room to kidnap three of our staff.

“They threatened to kill us if any of us shout. Teachers and students were afraid of being killed. They were armed with good guns”, a staff of the school who spoke on anonymity said. 

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, saying the command has launched efforts to rescue the victims.
