Seven wedding guests who drowned after the vehicle that was conveying them from a wedding ceremony plunged into Orogun River in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State will be given a mass burial on Wednesday (tomorrow).
The deceased were returning from a wedding ceremony on Agbor area of the state last Saturday (21 August, 2021) when they were involved in a fatal accident with the Toyota Sienna car plunging into a river.
According to a poster announcing their burial, the funeral service would be held in honour of the deceased, at the NPA Playground in Bomadi by the Bomadi Federated Community.

The event will begin at 10am prompt.
The six of the women are from Bomadi Federated Community in Bomadi LGA, while the seventh is from Peretoru Community in Ekeremo LGA of Bayelsa State.
The victims were identified as Akpokabowel Blessing, 28yrs; Fresh Akabolouseigha, 46yrs; Fresh Aleogiri-Ere, 47yrs; Teibogiren Eyawarekumon, 53yrs; Mrs Donbraye Mariana, 53yrs; Mary Pricilia Mieyebo, 56yrs, and Donbraye Rose Aladin, 61yrs.
It was gathered that the vehicle, a Toyota Sienna, had on board nine passengers and a driver, who were returning from a ceremony in Agbor area of the state.
Two women, as well as the driver, who reportedly ran away from the scene, survived the unfortunate incident.
According to reports, the vehicle veered of the highway and plunged into the Orogun river.

Residents and commuters plying the route were said to have made frantic efforts to rescue the victims, but only two women made it out alive.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident, said the driver of the car escaped the tragic accident and absconded.
