Two suspected “Yahoo Boys” have been reportedly caught by villagers for allegedly stealing ten female pants at Umutu community in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday.
The suspects, who were caught red-handed while trying to force their eleventh victims to remove her pant, narrowly escaped “jungle justice” by villagers who resisted the suspects being handed over to police.
WARRI TODAY learnt that the incident resulted in a state of pandemonium as the suspected ritualists were caught with different sizes and colours of pants in their bags.
The suspects were believed to be in their twenties.
There have been reports of suspected ritualists stealing pants from their victims at gunpoint to be sold for N10, 000 to N20,000 across Delta State.
The boys whose identities were still hazy at the time of filing this report have been hand over to police for further investigation.
A security source who confirmed the incident said the suspects were alleged to have stormed the community to steal about ten female pants.
When contacted for official confirmation, the State Police spokesman, Andrew Aniamaka said he had not been briefed of the incident.
He, however, promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area for details.
He had yet to call back at the time of filing this report several hours after he was contacted.
