Rivers Wins 2019 NAFEST, Plateau Hosts Next Edition


Rivers State has emerged winner of the 32nd National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST) hosted by Edo State.

It previously won the 2018 NAFEST.

Ogun State took second position while Edo and Bayelsa were tied in third position.

In other competitive events, Delta State won the traditional cuisine, Kwara State won in the Children Essay writing, Edo State won the children poetry, Anambra State won the traditional wrestling while Ogun won the Drama event.

Plateau State was named as the state to host the 2020 NAFEST.

Prof. Victor Uwaifo was given award for using music to promote culture.

Speaking at the event, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Otumba Olusegun Runsewe, hailed the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewaure II for the warm reception he accorded the NAFEST contingent.

Theme of the 32nd NAFEST was “Our Royalty, Our Pride.”
