Nigeria on Saturday recorded 176 new cases of the coronavirus with confirmed cases now 5621.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the development on Saturday on its Twitter handle.
It said the 176 new cases were recorded in Rivers, Edo, Lagos, FCT and ten other states in the country.
In the new cases announced by the NCDC, Lagos State let the pack with 95 new cases while its neighbouring Oyo State came second with 31 cases.
According to the tweet, Edo and Rivers States from the Niger Delta region that recorded new cases on Saturday with each recording two cases.
“176 new cases of #COVID19; 95-Lagos, 31-Oyo, 11-FCT, 8-Niger, 8-Borno, 6-Jigawa, 4-Kaduna, 3-Anambra , 2-Edo, 2-Rivers, 2-Nasarawa, 2-Bauchi, 1-Benue and 1-Zamfara.
“5621 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Discharged: 1472. Deaths: 176”, the NCDC added.
