Revoked Property: Obaseki Told Me About It – Ibori

A former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori, has reacted to Governor Godwin Obaseki ‘s revocation of his property on plot 103A Aiguobasimwin Crescent, GRA, in Oredo local government of Edo State.

Obaseki had on Thursday revoked revoked Ibori’s statutory right of occupancy of the property.

The property is situated on an area of approximately 1985.950 square metres in the Benin Area of Edo State.

Ibori, however, reacting to the development said Obaseki had told him of the decision three months ago.

The former Delta governor responding to enquiry on the development said, “I am aware. He told me three months ago.”

Obaseki said he revoked the property in exercise of the power conferred on him by sections (28) 1 and 38 of the Land Use Degree of 1978 and by virtue of all other laws enabling him on that behalf.

No further reason was given for the revocation.
