A team of fire fighters have reportedly put out the inferno which gutted the Federal Secretariat complex along Okpanam Road in Asaba, Delta State capital, on Tuesday morning.
It was gathered that the raging fire was extinguished by the combined efforts of men of the Delta State Fire Service, resident fighters at the complex and those attached to the Asaba International Airport.
The cause of the fire had not been ascertained at the time of filling this report.
However, sources claimed the inferno could have been caused by electrical fault from the second-floor of the building on Tuesday.
The secretariat complex houses most annex offices of Federal ministries, departments and agencies in the state.
