Publisher Of Niger Delta Today, Onojeghen, Wins Prestigious Chevron/PAU Award

The School of Media and Communication, Pan Atlantic University (PAU), has announced the results of the maiden edition of Chevron Recognition and Rewards for AWARES Alumni 2021.

AWARES stands for Advanced Writing and Reporting Skills, a centficate course sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, at the School of Media and Communication of the University.

Results of the maiden edition showed that Mr. Okpare Theophilus Onojeghen, Publisher of NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT), the fastest-growing online news platform in Nigeria, came second in the ranking.

This feat has won him the second prize from the class of 2018 partcipants of the Advanced Writing and Reporting Skills (AWARES).

The Director, Professional Education of the University, Isaac-Ogugua Ezechukwu, announced this in a congratulatory cum invitation to the award presentation letter to Onojeghen, dated October 4, 2021.

“We are delighted to notify you that after the grading of submitted publications by AWARES alumni of 2018, you came second in the ranking and has won the second prize from the class of 2018 partcipants of the Advanced Writing and Reporting Skills (AWARES) Centficate Course sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.

“We congratulate you on this achievement and wish to extend our invitation to you to come for the prize on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Omu Resort, Bogije, Off Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos,” the letter said.

Onojeghen established NIGER DELTA TODAY in 2019 after resigning as the Delta State Correspondent of The PUNCH Newspapers.

He has worked in several national newspapers in Nigeria including The PUNCH, National Mirror, The Authority, Daily Champion and host of others.
