The Shoprite Mall at the Delta Mall Effurun in Delta State has been reportedly shut down by protesting workers of the South African firm.

It was gathered that the protesting workers who resumed for duty on Tuesday morning blocked the entrance of the Shoprite Mall accusing management of the company inhuman treatment.

One of the protesters told NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online that the protest was to reject being enslave in their own country by the foreign firm.

The source said the protest was simultaneously taking place in all Shoprite malls across the country.

The protest began at about 8am when shops at the mall officially open for business.

However, other shops at the Delta Mall, Effurun, are not affected by the shutting down of Shoprite.
