Prominent Itsekiri Leader, Chief Isaac Jemide, Is Dead

Itsekiri leader and former commissioner representing Delta State on the board of the now defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), Chief Isaac Jemide, is dead.

Jemide, who is one of top ranking chiefs in Warri Traditional Council, reportedly passed on on Sunday morning.

The deceased, who held the title of Oshodi of Warri until his death, was the oldest chief in Itsekiriland.

He was said to have been briefly sick before his passage at an undisclosed hospital in Warri.

Chief Jemide was one of the strong supporters of the newly crowned Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse lll.

His death has thrown many Itsekiris into mourning.
