Prof. Amos Utuama Was God’s Gift To Nigeria – Archbishop Avwomakpa

A former chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, South-South Zone, Archbishop God-Do-Well Avwomakpa, has described the demise of the former deputy governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama SAN, as a great loss to the country and humanity.

Archbishop Avwomakpa, who is also the General Overseer of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church in Uvwie, Delta State, said the late Prof. Utuama was a gift from God to the people of Ughievwen Kingdom, Delta, Nigeria, and humanity.

Utuama, who hailed from Otughievwen in Ughelli South LGA and former deputy governor of Delta from 2007 to 2015, died last week Saturday at 77.

In a condolence statement to the Utuama family and Ughievwen Kingdom, Archbishop Avwomakpa said Utuama was one of the fathers God gave wisdom in the country.

While mourning the late legal luminary whom he described as his ‘childhood friend’, the renowned cleric, said Prof. Utuama would be greatly missed by his family, Ughievwen Kingdom, legal profession and Nigeria at large.

Avwomakpa wrote, “What do you do when you need strength and strength fails you? There was war but men were not allowed to do their best. The women are pregnant and they are due to deliver but strength failed them. How are the mighty Fallen? Do not allow them to hear and know that Saul is dead, as David said.

“Wisdom is not found in the palace but in the prophet and men that God gave it to have wisdom. Wisdom was not found in the Palace of pharaoh but in Joseph in prison.

“One of the Fathers whom God gave wisdom is gone! Who can find his kind, not born by men, but given by God to men before birth to lift a generation, state and a country? Great gifts from God are not often known until they are on their way out to meet their creator. We lost him but heaven gains him. Oh!!! Ivwieooooo…
