Lifeline seems to have come early for Aliyu Mohammed Sani, the Bauchi State man who reportedly drank ‘gutter water’ to celebrate the re-election victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 Presidential Election.

The Presidency has promised to move Sani, who was reported to have died earlier in the week from complications he allegedly contacted through the drinking of the ‘gutter water’, to the next level (#nextleve).

He has also received call from the presidency.

Sani, a young painter, had vowed prior to the election to swim and drink the drainage water once Buhari is declared winner. Moments after INEC declared results in favour he kept to his promise.

The Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, who said Sani is alive, also confirmed speaking with him on telephone on Wednesday.

Ahmad, who doubled as the Coordinator of Buhari Centre, made the clarification in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad, following rumours of Sani’s death.

The Presidential aide while thanking God for the life of Sani, noted Buhari supporter’s action was out of pure love for Mr President.

He added that the pure love would be rewarded with “purest love in return.”

According to him, “I have spoken to him earlier, Alhamdulillah for his life, his life will in sha Allah be moved to the #NextLevel, same with millions of Nigerians. Aliyu did that for pure love, and he will see purest love in return.”
