The Presidency on Monday confirmed that there was an attempted attack on the home of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

The incident which the presidency described as a ‘failed’ attempt to burgle the residence of Gambari was carried by unknown armed robbers on Monday morning.

Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this after Peoples Gazette, an online medium, reported that the gunmen invaded Aso Rock and carted away property at the home of President’s Chief of Staff.

The online medium also reported that the attackers break into the residence of an Administration Officer in the Presidency, Abubakar Maikano.

Buhari’s spokesperson reaction was contained in a tweet on his verified twitter handle.

According to him, “The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there ‘was a foolish attempt’ to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
