Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Defiling 10-Year-Old Girl

Anambra State Police Command has arrested, a 26-year-old man Stanley Okpara for defiling a 10-year-old girl in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect allegedly lured the girl into his shop and raped her.

It also gathered that the girl had gone to supply him water proof bag when he took advantage and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The Police Command Spokesman, Mr. Haruna Mohamed (SP) in a statement said that on the 23/9/2020, the Police operatives attached to Okpoko Division arrested one Stanley Okpara residing at No.14 Edeh Road Okpoko for raping a minor.

According to him, the suspect allegedly lured a ten-year-old girl inside his shop when she went to supply him water proof bag and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

Mr. Mohamed said Police detectives took the victim to the hospital for medical examination where penetration and laceration of her hymen were confirmed by the Medical Doctor.

The PPRO also stated that, the case would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discrete investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police, John B. Abang.

He also stated that after investigation the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
