Police Arrest 29-Year-Old Man With Three Pistols In Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Emeka Ngwu, with three locally made berretta pistols and thirteen (13) .9mm ammunition in Asaba, the state capital.

According to a statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said the suspect was arrested when he was about boarding a commercial vehicle travelling to Lagos.

Onovwakpoyeya said police operatives nabbed the suspect at the Asaba Motor Park on Monday October 28 following a tip-off from a credible information.

“On 28/10/2019, Police Operatives from ‘C’ Division Asaba acting on  credible information that one Emeka Ngwu ‘m’ aged 29yrs of Ezeagu Street Enugu, a suspected robber, was boarding a Lagos bound commercial vehicle at Asaba motor park, swung into action and arrested the suspect.

” Immediate search was conducted on the suspect and his belongings and the following items concealed in a bag was recovered: three locally made berretta pistols and thirteen (13) .9mm ammunition”, the statement said.

She added that, “Discreet investigation has commenced. Suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.”
