Physically Challenged Man, Friend Defraud Delta Woman Of N1.5m For Fake NDA Admission

Operatives of the Ughelli ‘A’ Division of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two men for allegedly defrauding an aged woman of N1.5million to arranged admission for her daughter into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna.

It was learnt that the two suspects after failing to secure the admission for the woman’s daughter, in quest to cover their atrocity, subsequently forged an admission letter of the NDA and handed it to the woman.

The admission letter the suspects earlier present to the victim was later discovered to be fake upon scrutiny.

The suspects, Felix Victor and Difeh Samuel, where alleged to have worked on the victim, Doris Samson, who was seeking admission for her daughter, Progress into the prestigious academy.

 NIGER DELTA TODAY learnt that the suspects’ deal was busted while attempting to further defraud the woman of additional N500,000 for acceptance fee her daughter Precious.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspects, not satisfied with the amount collected so far, approached the victim an extra N67, 000 and N475, 000 (acceptance fee) with a threat  that failure to pay the extra amount could make the woman’s daughter forfeit the admission.

The suspects, among them a physically challenged man were apprehended by the police when the woman reported the matter at the station.

The physically challenged man, who wore prosthesis, was granted bail by the police due to his state of health.

However, the other suspect is now cooling his feet at the cell of the Ughelli ‘A’ Division.

A source at the Ughelli Area Command who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, saying the matter had been charged before the Ughelli Magistrate Court II .

The police source, however, added that the court could not hear the matter on Monday for an undisclosed reason.

Efforts to reach the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke for official response on the matter proved abortive as his telephone number was said to be unavailable by his network provider.
