Photos: Speeding ‘Yahoo Boy’ crashes into woman’s shop in Effurun

A female hairdresser is now battling for life after a suspected ‘Yahoo Boy’ on Thursday evening reportedly crashed into hairdressing salon owned by the victim around Effurun, Uvwie LGA of Delta State.

It was learnt that the victim was critically injured including sustaining broken legs and waist.

WARRI TODAY gathered that the accident took place at No. 20 Emanovwe Street off Asheshe Street along the popular Jakpa Road Effurun at about 5:15pm on Thursday.

Our sources, who identified the victim as Mrs Joy Gbunu, claimed the woman had lost so much blood before being eventually rushed to Regal Clinic for treatment.

Owing to the degree of injury, woman was later transferred to Lilly Hospital along Etuwewe Street off Deco Road, Warri.

It was learnt that the driver of the Toyota Camry (spider) whose identified could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report had attempted running but was apprehended by youths in the area.

“The car hit the owner of the shop and she was rushed to Regal Clinic along Jakpa Road but she was later transferred to Lilly Clinic in Warri. The injuries were serious.  She sustained injuries from her womb down to her legs.

“The driver of the Camry car was suspected to be ‘Yahoo Boy.’ The vehicle was also damaged. Thank God that it was only the woman that was in the shop when it happened. The car was on high speed when it veered off to the shop”, an eyewitness recounted.
