PHOTOS: Mob Set Car Ablaze After Crushing Six Children To Death In Edo

Angry residents have reportedly set Mercedes Benz car ablaze after its driver reportedly crushed six children to death at Arue-Uromin in Esan North-East Local Government of Edo State. 

The incident occurred on Friday, January 16, causing pandemonium in the agrarian community. 

The car with a learner sticker sign was said to be on top speed when the fatal accident occurred. 

It was gathered that the six victims included teenage boys and girls who waiting to cross the road when the Mercedes Benz veered off the road and crushed the deceased.

The victims reportedly died on the spot. A situation that angered residents to immediately set fire on the accidented car. 

Sources claimed the driver of the car reportedly escaped mob action. 

Edo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Henry Benamaisia, confirmed the incident. 

It was not clear if the fleeing driver had been arrested by the police as effort to speak with the Police Spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, proved abortive.
