Petrol Scarcity: NSCDC Warns Filling Stations Hoarding Fuel In Delta


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Collaboration with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), has served a stern warning to all filing stations across Delta State.

The NSCDC said that in a joint operations they will dispense all petroleum products in any filing Station found selling above the government regulated prices, hoarding the products, under dispensing or diverting petroleum products.

The NSCDC Spokesperson Dsc Emeka Peters Okwechime who disclosed this in a radio programme with the Delta Broadcasting Service in Asaba the State capital said that the right thing must be done rightly. That the Command will not condone any further hardship on the citizens.

The NSCDC Image Maker Stated that the Federal Government has not increased price of any petroleum products and the products are readily available as assured by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company.

The NSCDC Public Relations Officer said that the directive from the Commandant General of the NSCDC Dr Abubakar Audi Ahmed PhD(mni) is that all Nigerians must buy fuel and petroleum products at the government regulated prices to prevent further hardship on the civilian population and the Corps should fight against hoarding, diversion, and under dispensing.

To this end, the Delta State Commandant of the NSCDC Akinsanya Abiodun Iskilu in Collaboration with the Department of Petroleum Resources has vowed to clamp down on any marketer selling above pump price, or engaged in under dispensing or hoarding the products, if caught, such products will be dispense to the public for free and the service station sealed to serve as deterrent to others.
