brahim Danbaba, the senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker announced his defection to the APC, a day after the Sokoto governor, Aminu Tambuwal, visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House.
Tambuwal had on Tuesday visited Buhari where he held a closed door meeting with Mr. President.
The governor, who is rumoured to be running for president in 2023 did not disclosed purpose for the visit.
President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, read letter of Danbaba’s defection during Wednesday.
Danbaba cited seeming crisis in the Sokoto chapter of the party for his defection.
He said APC’s ideology is in line with his personal political belief.
