Panic As Residents Discover Lady’s Lifeless Body Inside Drain In Delta

There was apprehension on Friday at Buluku Street in Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State when a lifeless body of a young lady was reportedly discovered in the area.

The lifeless body of the young girl believed to be in her mid-20s was discovered by sanitation workers who were clearing the drainage in the area.

It was gathered that the deceased was put in a sack by her alleged killers and dumped in the drain on the street.

NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online reports that the corpse was said to be already decomposing as at the time it was discovered.

Residents were said to have complained of an offensive smell before some workers were engaged to clear the drains.

It was learnt that residents could not identify the lifeless body of the deceased whose body was mutilated by her killers.

“A corpse of a girl was found in the gutters tied in a sack at Buluku street, Ughelli. No one has identified her yet. There were bruises in her body. The corpse was already decomposing”, a resident of the area confirmed to our correspondent.

Another resident further told NDT that the remains of the lady has been evacuated by policemen from Ughelli ‘A’ Division.

Police from the area were said to have commenced investigation into the incident.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident to our correspondent when contacted on Friday.
