Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, the immediate past Executive Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Saturday night escaped alleged assassination attempt when gunmen reportedly attacked his car.
Sources told Vanguard that the attack happened along the Ughelli/Evwreni section of the Ughelli /ort-Harcourt (East-West) Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Incident happened about 7:40pm on Saturday.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online learnt that Adjogbe was not in the vehicle when the incident took place.
It was gathered that a Lexus 570 Jeep belonging to the former NDDC Director was heading to his country home, Evwreni, when it was ambushed by the gunmen who shot sporadically on the occupants of the vehicle injuring one person.

Mr. Samuel Adibor, one of Engr Adjogbe’s drivers who was sitting on the owner’s seat was shot on his head.
One of his security aides, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident.
The source added that they were three in the car.
It said the suspected assassins fired sporadically at them with a gun which appeared to be AK47, lamenting that they shot at them through the front, back windscreens and side glass of the Lexus Jeep.
According to the security source, they escaped death by the whiskers, adding that the injured Adibor was already receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in Ughelli.
He said the matter has been incidented at the Ughelli ‘A’ Police Division.
When contacted, Engr Adjogbe confirmed the incident to Vanguard, adding that “they were attacked between Ughelli and Evwreni on their way from Ughelli at about 7:40 pm and my second driver, Mr Samuel Adibor was shot on his head.
“He is presently taking treatment in one of the hospitals in Ughelli. Thank God, no life was lost.”
The Police in the state are yet to confirmed the attack at the time of filing this report.
