Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the payment of “13th month” salary for workers in the State Civil Service.
Also approved by the state governor is the policy granting automatic employment to any Edo indigene that has first-class from any Nigerian or Foreign university.
Governor Okpebholo said the initiative to grant automatic employment first-class graduate into state civil service is aimed to develop and boost the quality of manpower in the system.
The Edo State Head of Service (HOS), Mr Anthony Okungbowa, made this known in a statement released on Friday.
He said the Graduate Development Programme stands to integrate higher-quality talents into the system to ensure that quality manpower was brought into the system for effective and efficient service delivery that would improve growth and development.
According to the governor, “For everyone in that programme are moved round across various ministries, departments and agencies and plans are also on to move them to the private sector to gather more experiences and there after bring such experiences to bear, to improve the system, and to contribute to the development of the state”
