Okowa Eulogises Late Father As Keyamo, Macaulay Commiserate With Delta Governor

The governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has officially confirmed the death of his father, Pa. Arthur Okorie Okowa, who passed on at 88 years. 

Okowa, paying tribute to his late father, described him as man through his life time spread the principles of service to humanity. 

The governor, “my family and I regret to announce the death of our beloved father, Sir Arthur Okorie Okowa, who passed away earlier this morning.  

“Throughout his lifetime, my father embodied and spread the principles of service to humanity, kindness even in the face of adversity, and trusting in Almighty God.  

“As we celebrate the life of my late father, I thank God for the 88 wonderful years that my family and I spent with him — and the impact that God allowed him to have on everyone that he came in contact with.”

Governor further stated that the family and the Owa where he hailed from would greatly miss him.

The late Pa Okowa was a retired teacher, a distinguished community leader and a high chief of Owa Kingdom. 

Meanwhile, the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SANMinister of State, Labour and Employment, Olorogun Festus Keyamo (SAN), has condoled with Governor Okowa over the passage of his father who died at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, on Thursday. 

The minister in a statement on Friday signed by his Senior Special Assistant (Legal and Political), M. E. Ukusare, Esq., said the late Pa Okowa lived a fulfiled life and had a great impact on his community and Delta State in general. 

Keyamo, while condoling with Governor Okowa and the entire people of Delta, said the deceased would be remembered for his sterling leadership and the development he brought to his kinsmen and all those who had contact with him. 

“The Hon. Minister noted that Pa. Okowa lived a fulfilled life and had a great impact on his community and Delta State in general. He urged the Delta State Governor to take solace in the fact that the legacies his father left behind will continue to be with us for years to come.

“He expressed confidence that as painful as any death could be, God will grant Gov. Okowa and the entire Okowa family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”, Keyamo’s statement read.

Also, a former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has commiserated with Governor Okowa and his entire family of the demise of the patraich of the Okowa family of Owa Kingdom, Pa. Arthur Okowa. 

In a statement on Friday, the former SSG eulogized the governor’s late father as an astute politician and educationalist who positively touched many lives while alive. 

Macaulay, who is the Director-General of the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, said he is one of the beneficiaries of late Pa Okowa’s fatherly love and mentorship skills. 

 According to him, “Pa Okowa was an educationist personified, a seasoned administrator and an astute politician who impacted on many lives across the state. 

“I am a beneficiary of Pa Okowa’s fatherly and mentoring skills. His grooming and prayers contributed to make what I have become today.”

He prayed to God Almighty to grant the Okowa family and the Ika nation, the fortitude to bear the loss.
