Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Monday appointed nine persons as his Advisers following last two weeks’ dissolution of the State Executive Council.
Among those appointed is the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Andi Osawota, as his Special Adviser.
The governor also appointed a former Commissioner for Economic Planning, Dr. Kingsley Emu, as his Chief Economic Adviser while a former speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Okoro was appointed as Special Adviser.

The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the State Head of Service, who doubled as Secretary to the State Government, Reginald Bayoko, on Monday.
According to the statement, Goernor Okowa also approved the appointment of Mr Omimi Esquire and Chief Isaac Anwuzia as his Political Advisers.
Similarly, the governor also appointed Hon Kelly Penawuo, Chief Mrs Mary Iyasere , Chief Edwin Uzor and Chief Godwin Ogadi as Special Advisers.

Governor Okowa had on Tuesday May 18 dissolved the State Executive Council.
The governor explained that he decided to sack the appointees comprising the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Commissioners and Special Advisers to avoid distraction which 2023 political race was already creating in his administration distractions.
