Okada Man Flouting Delta Sit-At-Home Order Dies In Accident (SEE PHOTO)

An unidentified commercial motorcycle rider who was violating the sit-at-home order in Delta State has died in an auto crash in Sapele, headquarters of Sapele Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased was crushed by a speeding vehicle along New Road by Jesus Freedom Ministry close to Ogbimi drive in the heart of Sapele.

The bike man died on the spot, sources in the area told our correspondent on Saturday.

NIGER DELTA TODAY Online learnt that the accident occurred at about 3:35pm.

Recall that the Delta State Government ordered a lockdown in the state to curtail the spread of the novel COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

It was learnt that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident when he discovered that the Okada had died.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident when contacted by NIGER DELTA TODAY Online.

Onovwakpoyeya said the police in Sapele had launched a manhunt for the fleeing driver.
