A pan-Igbo Youth Organisation, Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC) has hailed the Presidency of Muhammadu Buhari for reappointing the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Godfrey Onyeama for the Enugu State slot.
The organization said this after a meeting held In Enugu, the state capital.
Expressing satisfaction on the appointment, Comrade Emmanuel Ozoani who is the state chairman
affirmed that Onyeama’s untainted and leadership dispositions prepared him for the challenges of the current national assignment, and his reappointment has just confirmed that he proved his worth in the first term as a minister.

Ozoani said “As a son of our dear Enugu State, Godfrey Onyeama has proved his mettle by emerging among the 12 returned ministers of the Federal Government. This is because in his first term under Mr President, he performed extremely well, hence his reappointment. Ozoani equally called on Igbo political leaders jettison the limitations of political affiliation and work together for the overall development of South East geologist zone and other Igbo towns outside the zone.

“Our political leaders should realize that elections are over and it’s time for governance. We call on them to unite and work as ‘umunne’ to develop ala Igbo. With the level of underdevelopment of our geographical zone, we cannot afford to continue as a broken society. Our political leaders must stand together and realize that the times are leaving us behind. The sooner we begin to work together without recourse to party affiliation, the better for us all as a people”.
Speaking on security, the youth leader stated, “OYC is alarmed with the rising case of insecurity across the country, and in ala Igbo in particular. We hereby call on Mr President that members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) be henceforth trained as professional security operatives, and permitted to make use of security gadgets where the need arises. Corp members are capable of serving in the remotest areas of the country and if they are trained, they will play a very significant role in curbing the menace of security in the country.”
