The people of Oginibo community in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have commended the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa over the distribution of COVID-19 palliatives to the community.
They said the measures adopted by the state government in the distribution of the palliatives helped to cushion the hardship caused by lockdown as result of the outbreak of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
In an appreciation letter signed by Archbishop Dr. God–dowell Avwomakpa (Chairman, Oginigbo electoral committee), Bishop Dr. Samuel Onakovwen (Vice Chairman) and Tareri Avwomakpa Esq. (Secretary) Oginigbo Electoral Committee, said the proactive measures put in place by the Okowa-led administration have helped contain the spread of the virus.
“ We members of the Oginigbo electoral committee, acting on behalf of the Oginigbo community, wish to express our profound gratitude to Your Excellency Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa CON, the Executive Governor Of Delta State, for the palliatives graciously given to the Oginibo people to assuage the privations occasioned by the State–wide lockdown which the government adopted as a measure to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
“Oginigbo people are indeed grateful to Your Excellency for the benevolence.”
It added that the electoral committee also contributed money in collaboration with well-meaning sons and daughters of Oginibo to purchase food items worth about One million naira to complement the Governor’s effort.
The community further commended Governor Okowa for his efforts towards restoring lasting peace to the community.
“We also explore this opportunity to appreciate Your Excellency in advance for the commitment of the administration to bring development to Oginigbo community and for the initiative to restore lasting peace to the community.
“May God bless you and reward your kindness to Oginigbo community”, the appreciation letter further added.
