President Muhammadu Buhari has won the two Local Government Areas of Ughelli North and Ethiope East where Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Chief Great Ogboru and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege hail from.
Buhari defeated Alh. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with wide margin in the results from the various LGAs declared so far by INEC in Asaba, the state capital.
The President, who is the candidate of the APC scored 24,193 votes to crushed Atiku who got 16,140 votes in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Emerhor, who is the leader of APC in the state, and incumbent Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who also won his re-election to represent Delta Central Senatorial District, both come from Ughelli North.
While Emerhor is from Evwreni area of the council, Omo-Agege is from Orogun of the LGA.
Similarly, the APC governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Ogboru also won his Ethiope East LGA for Buhari. Ogboru is from the university community of Abraka.
Buhari polled 13, 854 votes to defeat PDP which scored 8,294 votes.
Ughelli North and Ethiope East are the stronghold of the APC in Delta State.
