Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Now 6175 As Death Toll Near 200

Confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Monday reached 6175, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says.

The disease control body also said the death toll as a result of the virus was nine away from hitting 200

NCDC disclosed this on Monday while announcing 216 new cases of the virus in the country.

It said the 216 cases were recorded in 14 states and the FCT Abuja.

The figures released indicate Lagos top the chart with 74 new cases of the virus, closely followed by President Muhammadu Buhari home state, Katsina which had 33 cases while Oyo had 19.

NCDC also announced that a total of 1644 patients have been discharged across the country after testing negative to the virus.

“216 new cases of #COVID19; 74-Lagos 33-Katsina 19-Oyo 17-Kano 13-Edo 10-Zamfara 8-Ogun 8-Gombe 8-Borno 7-Bauchi 7-Kwara 4-FCT 3-Kaduna 3-Enugu 2-Rivers.

“6175 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.Discharged: 1644. Deaths: 191″, NCDC tweeted late Monday night.
