Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases 85 Short Of 9000 In Three Months

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday said the country’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic have reached 8,915 in the last three months.

NCDC disclosed this on its verified Twitter handle while confirming 182 new cases of the coronavirus.

Nigeria recorded her index case February 27 in Lagos, the nation’s epicentre of the most effected state in the country.

The number is 85 short of 9000 in three months.

A total of 49,966 persons have so far been tested according to figures on NCDC’s website.

Lagos, the nation’s most effected state has recorded 4,123 confirmed cases with 47 deaths and 745 discharged.

According to the figures released late Thursday night, Lagos recorded 111 cases of the 182 new confirmed cases in the country.

The figures put the total number of deaths at 259 and discharged patients 2592.

The new cases were recorded in 15 states and the FCT Abuja.
