The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 195 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the country barely a day after Nigerian Government decided to relax total lockdown.
This brings to 1532 confirmed cases across the country as of Tuesday.
NCDC said the new cases were recorded in 14 states and the FCT Abuja.
According to an update on its verified Twitter handle on Wednesday morning, it said 80 new cases were recorded in Lagos bringing the number of confirmed cases in the state to 844.
Lagos, according to the data released by the NCDC, was closely followed by Kano which recorded 38 cases. With the number, Kano now has a total of 115 confirmed cases.
The Centre also disclosed that Delta and Rivers in the Niger Delta region recorded one each while Edo, their neighbouring state had five new cases.
It further disclosed that four death were recorded on Tuesday bringing the total number of deaths to 44.
