The Delta State COVID-19 Case Management Team of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has discharged the Managing Editor of NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online, Mr. Theophilus Onojeghen, after testing negative to the coronavirus two weeks after he was confirmed positive.
Onojeghen, who joined NDT, the fastest growing online news medium especially in the Niger Delta region, was confirmed negative after repeated tests carried out on him by officials of the NCDC and the Delta State COVID-19 task force at the Warri treatment centre.
The former PUNCH Correspondent thanked frontline health workers, the Delta State Government and the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for their support and guidance during the period.

NDT Managing Editor Now Free Of COVID-19
NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online, publishers of the “news you can trust,” Is glad to share with our numerous readers, newsmakers, and followers that our Managing Editor (ME), Theophilus Onojeghen, who TESTED positive to COVID-19 two weeks ago has been discharged after repeated tests by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) proved negative.
NDT is eternally grateful to God Almighty for prayers answered and the healing of our Editor.
We also have a number of groups and good spirited individuals to thank for the rapid recovery of our Editor from 26 June when we announced his situation and subsequent movement to an Isolation Center in Delta State.
We express immense gratitude to the NCDC, the Delta State Government and especially Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, the Commissioners for Health and Information, Mr Mordi Ononye and Charles Aniagwu; the Chairman, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, and all frontline officials for the diligent intervention from test through treatment to discharge.
Furthermore, we also give exceptional thanks to His Excellency, the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for his fatherly and expert guidance all through the time our Editor started noticing symptoms, went for testing and started treatment. You are awesome, sir.
We thank the ZMD, Central Hospital, Warri, Dr Paul Okubor and Dr Eresanara Toju for their commitment to our Editor’s recovery.
Words will not be enough to acknowledge the priceless solidarity from Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Umeh Need Road, Delta NUJ, Colleagues, and others too numerous to mention.

It is most cheering to note that the tests for our Editor’s wife and son turned out negative from results availed us by the National Center for Disease Control.
To reiterate our earlier containment advocacy, COVID-19 is real.
The clear proof of the reality of this pandemic is the ordeal our Editor had with this deadly and virulent illness.
We urge the GENERAL PUBLIC to be guided and guarded by observing all necessary containment protocols.
