Hon. Abraham Ngobere has emerged as the new speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly following the resignation of the former speaker, Monday Bubou-Obolo
Until his election, Ngobere was the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Bubou-Obolo hails from Bayelsa Central Senatorial District with the state governor, Senator Duoye Diri.
Diri, who represents Bayelsa Central at the senate, was sworn in as Bayelsa governor following Supreme Court sacking of the candidate of the APC, Chief David Lyon, who had earlier declared as the winner of the governorship election.
Diri, who came second in the election, was declared winner after the apex court nullified the candidate of the APC candidate over his deputy forged certificate scandal.
The new speaker was elected by members of the assembly at Wednesday plenary where the former speaker equally resigned.
