Some members of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) who benefited from PLCF's gesture

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Pledge Love Charity Foundation (PLCF) has sponsored two under-aged children of an ex-leper couple at the Tuberculosis and Leprosy and Referral Center in Sanubi-Eku, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State for hernia operation.

President of PLCF, Innocent Agambi, disclosed this during the presentation of cash grant to members of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD).

The humanitarian gesture, according to the NGO, was meant to bring succor to members of JONAPWD who mostly neglected in the society.

 Agambi noted that the exercise is part of funding for the empowerment of the beneficiaries and persons with special needs in the state.

He explained that having trained the beneficiaries on various vocational skills, PLCF decided to give them the cash grant to assist them in establishing their various skills.

Acknowledging the support of PLCF, members and executives of JONAPWD, further presented an award of excellence to the group for its humanitarian gesture to the underprivileged in the society.

Aganbi said: “We have been able to go beyond the secluded leprosy community and brought together the joint association of persons with disabilities by empowering them with skills acquisition programmes and award of certificates of competency.

“After our first visit to the center which was like a fact-finding visit, we gave ourselves a futuristic objective and interaction on our goals and mission as a humanitarian organization. As at today, no year passes by without PLCF embarking on a project that will positively impact the community.

“Our next move now is to financially empower them with a view to positioning them as entrepreneurs.”
