NCDC Confirms 313 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Nigeria

Nigeria on Sunday recorded 313 new cases of the coronavirus says the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The cases, according to the NCDC, were recorded in 16 states and the FCT Abuja.

It brings to 7839 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. So far, 34 states except Kogi and Cross River States have recorded cases.

NCDC announced the new cases on its verified Twitter handle on Sunday night.

According to the figures released, Lagos State recorded 148 new cases to continue to top the chart of states with highest number.

In the Niger Delta region, Rivers State recorded 27 new cases, the highest the state had ever recorded in a day since the outbreak of the virus.

Edo State, which NASA recorded the highest number of cases in the region, recorded 19 new cases on Sunday to bring her total to 191.

The figure also revealed that Delta State recorded eight new cases, while Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa State recorded three new cases each on Sunday.

NCDC disclosed that five deaths were recorded on Sunday bringing the total number of fatalities to 226.
