Michael Ikeogwu Re-elected As Delta NUJ Chair

The former chairman of the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, has been reelected.

Ikeogwu defeated Comrade Churchill Oyowe, a two-term state secretary of the union, in a keenly contested election on Tuesday.

The elected held at the State Secretariat of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Asaba, the state capital.

The former state vice chairman, Comrade Patrick Ochei, was elected Secretary after defeating Comrade Oteri Toju.

Comrade Salvation Ogono was elected state vice chairman after defeating Victor Sorokwu of the Daily Trust newspapers.

Also elected were Comrade Felix Ekwu of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) who emerged Assistant Secretary and Celestine Afokobah as Auditor.
