An ad hoc electoral officer in the ongoing governorship election in Kogi State has reportedly died in a boat mishap.
The unnamed officer, according to the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. James Apam, said the incident occurred in Ibaji Local Government Area of the state.
He told journalists on Sunday said the deceased was an ad hoc of the commission for the governorship election.
Apam further stated that the deceased, whose name was not given, was a student of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
He added that the student was contracted for the governorship election but died while on election duty on Saturday.
