Kidnappers Attack 18-Seater Bus, Abduct All Passengers In Ondo

An 18-seater commercial bus traveling to Lagos has been allegedly attacked in Ondo State by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

It was gathered that the entire passengers of the bus which was in transit through the State were abducted by the kidnappers.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, along the Idoani-Ifira Akoko, in Akoko South East Local Government Area of the State, an area very notorious for kidnapping.

It was gathered that the bus was forced to a stop at one of the failed portions of road and the entire passengers abducted.

Local sources had it that the kidnappers shot sporadically in the air to warn villagers and other motorists who abandoned their vehicles and scampered for hiding in the bush.

One of the sources disclosed that the passengers were robbed of their valuables before marching them into the forest.

The Divisional Police Officer for Isua Akoko Division, CSP Hakeem Sadiq who confirmed the incident, said that the anti-kidnapping unit of the police command, as well as other sister agencies, had already swung into action towards rescuing the abducted travellers unhurt.

Meanwhile, a source close to one of the victims disclosed that the kidnappers had demanded N10 million as ransom for the release of the abducted passengers.
