Kidnapped Warri North Council Chairman Regains Freedom In Delta

The chairman of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu, who was kidnapped on Saturday night, has been released.

NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online gathered that Okorodudu regained freedom in the early hours of Tuesday.

A family source confirmed the development to our correspondent on condition of anonymity.

Mr. Okorodudu was reportedly kidnapped by arms-wielding hoodlums along Mbiaku Link Road in Warri GRA.

The council chairman, who was in company of his driver, was waylaid and whisked to unknown destination at about 7pm.

The driver of the victim was reportedly shot by the gunmen before taking custody of the Warri North chairman.

It was gathered that unknown amount of money was allegedly paid to the kidnappers as ransom before releasing the victim.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, confirmed the release of Okorodudu to NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online on Tuesday morning.
