Kidnapped DELSUTH Resident Doctor Regains Freedom

The President of the Resident Doctors of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Dr. Jerry Isogun, has been released by his abductors.

Sources at DELSUTH confirmed the release of the medical doctor to our correspondent on Friday.

Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, also confirmed the development when contacted on Friday.

NIGER DELTA TODAY gathered that Dr Isogun regained freedom at about 8pm on Thursday.

Sources said his captors reportedly dumped him at a bush near Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that the medical doctor was receiving treatment DELSUTH Oghara as a result of injury he sustained during the attack.

He was said to have been repeatedly stabbed by his abductors.

This medium also gathered that the hoodlums also collected unspecified amount of money as ransom before releasing him.

NIGER DELTA TODAY reports that Dr. Isogun was kidnapped along the Oghara-Mossogar-Sapele axis of the Benin/Sapele highway on Wednesday.

The medical doctor was said to be returning home from work in Oghara when the arms-wielding hoodlums waylaid and whisked him to unknown location.

Confirming the release, the state commissioner of police, Adeleke, said “Yes, he (Isogun) has been released. He was released last night.”
